A Different View

On 20th December, when I first started recording statistics about Lords & Knights United Kingdom 1, and particularly the war between Kings and the other alliances, Assassins were over 300,000 points behind Kings.  This afternoon, Assassins were over 227,000 points ahead of Kings.

Since Kings were overtaken to top spot, the points difference between Kings and Assassins has accelerated as Kings have begun to lose their better players to other alliances.

This can be seen by their average and player count:

Kings average leapt at the beginning, when they ditched their old Wing players, and peaked at around 3,500 – but it has dropped over the last couple of weeks.  Meanwhile, Assassins player average continues to grow slowly.

Kings Last Desperate Act?

It seems that there were peace talks on the United Kingdom 1 Server over the last few days.  I will leave others to comment on the why’s and wherefore’s, but I am not sure that they will finish in anything but continued war.

So, back to the statistics.

Assassins continue their march and are just shy of one million points, as of 16th February.  They have merged with a couple of smaller alliances over the last week, which boosts their numbers, and the peace talks seem to have taken some of the focus off war.  They have increased their points score by over 60% since the baseline of December 2011.

Kings continue to seemingly decline and are losing players to neutral alliances.  They are hovering around a 20% increase in their points score since “records began” in December 2011.

And, the key graph, shows Assassins just shy of 1,000,000 points:

Inextricable March of the Assassins

The Assassins march on towards one million points, leaving all other alliances trailing in their wake.  It looks inevitable that they will be the first alliance to a million points on the United Kingdom 1 Server of Lords and Knights.

Lords and Knights Total Points (12/03/2012)

Kings had a bit of a fight-back when Assassins were about to catch them, but since then have fallen back as they lose big players to Play the Game.

One interesting point to note is that Knights of the Steel Storm (KSS) are now actually just below their points score for when I started recording these things back in mid-December 2011.

Kings Fight Back?

Of course, the Kings have not capitulated since they have been overtaken by Assassins in the war on United Kingdom 1 Server of Lords & Knights.

As can be seen below, Kings have started recruiting again, and added 31 players to their total since 17th February.

Points and Players Percentage Point Change (since 21/12/2011)

However, they have been recruiting a number of low-scoring players on the periphery of the map and lost a couple of their bigger players recently to other alliances, most notably to Play the Game.  Therefore, as can be seen in the above graph, Kings continue to make any real headway in their overall points total, whilst Assassins seem to be surging ahead.

However, it is tight at the top at the moment:

The Weekend and The Truth

Over the weekend the Kings returned to the Number 1 spot, as many of the higher-ranking Assassins players were mostly out in “The Truth” discussions. It seems to have revolved around bullying etc.

Anyway, but mid-afternoon today, most of the players away at “The Truth” had returned to their rightful alliances and Assassins re-took first place, just.

Kings have actively started to recruit again and their numbers are increasing quickly, but for the moment Assassins are in number one spot.

Assassins move to Number One on the UK Server

Lords & Knights Icon Assassins became the top ranked alliance on the UK server of Lords & Knights last night, and this morning they seem to have held on to that position.  I expect Kings will fight back, and Assassins may have altered their overall numbers as there may be external visitors from other alliances, so we will need to see if they can consolidate that number 1 spot over the coming days.

Poor Performing Kings

I measured the performance of the four main protagonists in the United Kingdom Server war of Lords and Knights in a different way.

I have been recording data, on and off, since 21st December 2011.  By taking the points scores at this time as a relative baseline, the graph below shows how the four main alliances have performed, both in the number of points gained and the number of players within their alliance.

Percentage change in Points and Players since baseline on 21st December 2011 (as at 20th February 2012)

As can be seen, Kings is being out-performed by Assassins and Everlasting Legion by this measure.  They also seem to be having a hard time recruiting new players, though that statistic has improved in the last couple of days.  This is another statistic indicating that Kings seem to have “hit a wall” and their points increase looks to have stalled at around 820,000 points.

800,000 Points to Assassins

Assassins broke, briefly at least, through the 800,000 point barrier today.  It seems that they have players quite regularly visiting other alliances, and this can affect their overall total by between 6000 and 12000 points if their larger players are temporarily away.

Anyway, Kings seems pretty much stuck between 818000 and 825000 points, and do not seem to have moved much from that base for around 10 days now, and the gap is closing.

Points Difference to Kings (20/02/2012)

The points gap between Kings at Number 1 and Assassins at Number 2 was below 18000 points at one point this afternoon, but as always it is at a state of flux, and has opened up a little this afternoon.

Stalemate

In the continued war between Kings and the alliance of alliances, led by Assassins, the gap between Assassins and Kings seems to have stabilised:

Points Difference to Kings

At one point this week, the gap was down to less than 20,000 points, but that seemed to be caused mostly by players visiting other alliances, artificially inflating Assassins score and deflating Kings score.

Another interesting view is to see how the two main alliances on the United Kingdom server of Lords and Knights have progressed since I started recording their scores:

Points since 20th December 2011

This view shows how phenomenally well Assassins have done. Kings lost ground at the beginning, as they cleared out their “old” Wing to make room for the war. Although Assassins have stalled in their progress in the last few days, it seems inevitable that some time soon, they will catch and overtake Kings.
